Chairman's Letter

Croeso – Welcome. First I would like to start by wishing you and your families all the very best for 2009; I hope you all had a good time over Christmas.\r\n\r\nWell we are now halfway through the season, and I am sure it will be as good and enjoyable as the first half. We had a good evening on the traditional mince pie night, so I would like to thank our programme Secretary Henry for organising the evening and getting a variety of surprise gift for the winners of the Christmas theme night. I would also like to thank all those who helped over the first half of the season in providing the refreshments at half time.\r\n\r\nOn the 10th January our club attended the family fun day at Venue Cymru, putting on a display of photographs by our members and the school camera club members. Keith Webster put up his bird watching equipment, and Frans Born put on a digital projection display for the day. Gerald and Henry took photos of parents and their children and gave each one a copy. Jayne Williams had a bunch of balloons tied to her, and had her face painted she walked about encouraging the public to come into our area; she also did a stunt on the Wii game which we photographed. I would also like to thank all those who came to help on the day, especially Doug Braisby for all the hard work he put in. The club was thanked by the management for helping to make the day a success, we now look forward to the 3rd March for our six week photographic exhibition.\r\n\r\nOn the 16th January we held our Social night dinner at the cricket club in Rhos – On – Sea, and I have to say the night was very successful. I must congratulate Don Williams and his wife for winning the tickets for a show of their choice at Venue Cymru, and to the other members who won prizes for the quiz, and the free draw. I would like to thank the Social Committee for an excellent choice of venue, and the work they put into it, the cricket club will be our venue for our presentation night on 15th May. \r\n\r\nThe Committee would like to put to you all, we will require for next season a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and a members rep, if you feel you would like to stand for a post on the Committee please let us know, the closing date for names will be 25th March for voting at the AGM.
